Junior Mens Niki Basket Continues to show Promise; Top Prospects in Guinea Bissau

After Niki Basket Juniors Mens beat De Mattias to a 103-36 blowout win on April 12th. The victory brought the club to 4-0 in the Guinea-Bissau ProBasket League. This has brought eyes on the young Niki Boys throughout the country. There are a few players on Niki Basket that have stood out and shows promise among the young GuiGui youth. Yet there have been several players in the country that have caught eyes not only in Guinea-Bissau but internationally as well.



Cesar Vieria


The 6'4 shooting guard who has participated in the FIBA Africa youth camp in 2022 has continued to develop and helped aid Ajuda Basket to 2nd place in the Junior Masculino division. Vieria who is only 18 years old already displays great athleticism, footwork and basketball IQ for his age. With a developing jumpshot, he is a force at the rim and able to draw fouls.


Watche Cabral Julio


The young guard who has also attended the FIBA Africa youth camp in 2023, plays for Ajuda Basket along side Cesar Vieria. The guard has shown great footwork and ball handling throughout competitions.


Joel Danho


Joel Danho is an athlete! Able to almost dunk anything and on anyone. He's a solid finisher as well. His best skill is rebounding and doing put back layups or even Dunks. Danho has been a huge factor in Niki Basket's victories alongside his teammates.


Madio Bandjai


The floor general and point guard Bandjai is running the offense for Niki Basket. Very solid shooting mechanics and midrange . Bandjai is a solid passer which is a great asset for the Niki Basket club.


Cesário Sá Correia


Correia is another forward who plays for Niki Basket, along with Joel Danho, Correia shows great length and athleticism. He's really good on defense and has aided Niki Basket in their perfect record in league games.


Davide Mané


Mane who is 6'3 last played in De Mattias Sport Academy, he is a small forward and shooting guard with great basketball instincts. Mane is a solid defender, finisher, passer, and ball handler. He stands out from many of his peers due to his ability to read the game and make the right play consistently.


All these young men are showing pride for Guinea Bissau basketball. These players will help grow the sport in the country and will continue to develop as they prepare for the senior division in a few years.
